Transition is a condition we live in. From moment to moment we change physically, intellectually and even spiritually. This transition will be complete upon our entrance into eternal life, whether in heaven or hell, as we attain spirit bodies. Then we will ever live, unchanging.
Paul describes in Ephesians 2:4-7 a type of life we now live in Christ Jesus. He uses the Greek prefix “Syn” to illustrate this passage from our old life to our new life.
“Syn” means “together with”
Synoonio = “to make alive together with”
Syneyeiro = “to raise up together with”
SynKathizo = “to sit down together with”
Taken together these word phrases make up some of the most significant statements in the Bible as to our relationship with Christ here on earth as well as eternally. This marvellous concept “oneness, togetherness, unity,” is key to our relationship with Him!
“Abide in Me and I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the Vine.” John 15:5
“I have given them the glory that you gave me as we are one; I in them and you in me.” John 17:22
“I have been crucified in Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” Galatians 2:20
“In Him” and “He in us” are primary themes in our relationship. “Mixed together” Ephesians 5:21. “To put together” Colossians 1:17-18. “To hold together” Colossians 2:2. “Fit together” Ephesians 4:16.
The key phrase “in Him” is used twelve times in the first chapter of Ephesians. How blessed to know that “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be blameless and holy in love.” Ephesians 1:4
