First Time Guests

We understand that it can be a little overwhelming to visit any church for the first time. Meeting new people and understanding where to go and what to expect can be a lot to take in. On this page we will try to give you a clear picture of what to expect during our Sunday service and other information that may be relevant to your visit. We hope you will feel at ease during your visit with us, if you have further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

General Info

What time does it start?
Our Sunday Services begin at 10:00 AM.

Where is the church?
We are located at Unit A11, National Enterprise Park, R32 HA21, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, Ireland.

What should you wear?
Most people who attend are usually dressed in a casual manner. However, if you would like to wear your new suit or dress you are very welcome.

Where can you park?
There is ample parking all around the business park. The only request we make is that you not park in front of businesses units that are open or in front of loading bays with garage doors on them.

What should you expect?
As you enter the main auditorium you will usually be met by one of our greeters who will be happy to help you find a seat or answer questions you may have. Immediately on arrival children (under 12) are invited to kids church upstairs. We request that parents sign-in their children at the sign-in tables upstairs. After the service your children should be collected and signed-out.

Sunday Services

Our services start with a time of celebration and worship through singing. This normally lasts around 30 minutes. We welcome you to sing with us, but relax and feel free to participate at your own pace. After the singing we express thanks to God with the collection of the offering. Naturally, you don’t have to give. If you are visiting for the first time we would encourage you to simply let the basket pass you by, as you are our guest. We then briefly welcome newcomers with a small gift when possible. This is followed by a few announcements. We continue with stimulating and practical teaching from the Bible that lasts around 45 minutes, often followed by an opportunity to respond. At this point the service is concluded and you are welcome to stay and meet with others over a cup of tea or coffee.

Join us for tea/coffee and a selection of biscuits after our service.

What about my kids?

When you arrive your children are welcome to be part of kids church upstairs. We currently have three main environments for the children to participate in upstairs.

  • Creche (6 months to 4 years)
  • Soaring Eagles (4 years to 7 years)
  • Roaring Lions (8 years to 11 years)

Parents are asked to sign-in their children and sign them out at the service’s conclusion. The creche (6 mo. to 4 yrs.) sign-in table is located upstairs outside of the creche room. The Soaring Eagles (4-7 yrs) and Roaring Lions (8-11 yrs) sign-in table is located at the top of the stairs. Our kids’ ministry gatherings include active songs, games, Bible teaching, crafts, snacks and other activities designed to be enjoyable for your children, but if you prefer, you are welcome to keep your children with you during the main service.

Children twelve and older are invited to join us in the main service. There is a midweek youth meeting for ages 12 to 18 years that happens every two weeks during a weekday evening. If you would like to know time and location, please contact us.
